Epidemic/Pandemic/Forced or Voluntary Closures/openings
This policy covers the daycare if its mandated to closed or is allowed to remain open, but your not attending due to an epidemic, pandemic or other orders (Forced or voluntary) by Public Health, The government of Ontario/Canada, C.A.S., the police etc.
During a epidemic or a pandemic the daycare holds the right to temporary close to help prevent the spread of the illness or to stay open (essential business).
If the daycare remains open, the provider has the right to cancel all outings to public areas (mall, playgroup etc)
The provider also has the right to refuse care to any child who is showing any symptoms of being sick, if the child has been around anyone who has been sick or has been confirmed to have whatever illness is causing the epidemic/pandemic.

All closures covered in this policy are not considered part of the providers vacation time.

Payment, refunds and spots
Payments during this time, whether the daycare is open or closed.
If there is NO Ontario government mandate in regards to payment:

- Payment will be due in full unless the provider states otherwise
- Lack of payment or agreement over payment can result in termination of your contract
- Your spot will be held as long as payments have been made
If there is an Ontario government mandate order in place in regards to payment:
- The mandate will be followed until it has been lifted
- Once the mandate has been lifted, payments will resume
- If mandated by the government, your spot will be held without payment while the order is in place, unless you terminate your contract
Mandated refunds
If the Ontario government mandates a "holding fee" refund and a guaranteed spot once the daycare reopens. The provider has full discretion on how the refund will be issued.
If you are returning to care:
If you are returning and have already stated that care will be terminated due to your child(ren) going to school.:
If you had already handed in your termination notice before the daycare closure, but the notice period has not ended:
If you terminate care during the daycare closure:
If you are returning to care:
- The amount refunded will be deducted from future payments,
- The provider will decide the amount deducted from each payment,
- The refund will only be for the days mandated by the order,
- All fees paid before the orders "start" date or after the orders "end date" will not be refunded.
If you are returning and have already stated that care will be terminated due to your child(ren) going to school.:
- The amount refunded will be deducted from future payments,

- If the full amount is not refunded by the end of August (before school starts) the remained will be issues in either one lump sum or in a payment plan decided by the provider,
- Your spot will be available until the end date of your termination notes or until the end of August if official notice was not already handed in, if the daycare reopens before the contracts end date/end of August,
- The refund will only be for the days mandated by the order,
- All fees paid before the orders "start" date or after the orders "end date" will not be refunded.
If you had already handed in your termination notice before the daycare closure, but the notice period has not ended:
- The amount refunded will be issues in either instalments, or in full once the daycare has reopen and your child's spot has been filled,
- Your spot will be held until the end of your termination notice,
- The refund will only be for the days mandated by the order,
- All fees paid before the orders "start" date or after the orders "end date"will not be refunded.
If you terminate care during the daycare closure:
- The amount refunded will be issues in either instalments, or in full once the daycare has reopen and your child's spot has been filled,
- You have terminated your spot and you will not have a spot available if/when the daycare reopens,
- You can reapply to the daycare (new contract(s), new fees, etc.) if a spot is available,
- The refund will only be for the days mandated by the order,
- All fees paid before the orders "start" date or after the orders "end date" will not be refunded.
